How would the rabbis welcome a jewish prophet girl ?

in #idf7 years ago

Wouldn't it be nice? I love the idea... you know Jesus style, who would answer their questions in a way they would know.

I am just curious of the reaction of the rabbinical world? I guess some would smile and others?

Why should there be opposition? I mean of course some may have cognitive resistance or even strong resistance toward her, but they would all know...

on sure, things... no failure this time :)

just for clarification it's an idea that I find super fun :) how not to love such a girl :).

Would any religion accept a modern prophet ?

When was the last time that such a thing happened?

Apparently a bunch of christians are waiting for Jesus second's coming but how would they know the guy(or girl) is not just crazy ? Miracles ? Was there ever such a thing as miracles ?

specially when it's a girl...

idk

idk.

thanks for your comment...

I don't think being a girl would change anything.Religion is a special construct made for certain purpose.
Why is there no lasting religion that were founded by a women or had a women prophet ?

It's not because of the patriarchy, it's because men have been much more involved historically in creative writing. What happen when you mix creative writing and the desire for more power over a gullible uneducated population ?

who knows, I have not met her :).

Accepting a new covenant is sometimes hard for some who have based their lives on an old one, like the goons of pharaoh and himself, specially would it be by a girl... (an actual example would be the nomination of ms Haspel).

I think it's important to not neglect the fundamental : pharaoh want to keep slaves (what you call special construct) and by miracles some arrived to escape his control lead by a certain moses and settle in and around today isreal.

the fundamental message being about liberty from the ruling class with God help (for the hardcore who cares, all to hell, but as victor :)).

anyway... time will tell...

What happen when you mix creative writing and the desire for more power over a gullible uneducated population ?

pharaoh?

Closest thing to it was probably Jeanne D'arc that led the french revolution and claimed to be guided by angels and stuff.

Jeanne D'Arc has been overused politically.
The real history (without all posterior alterations, political recuperations leading to the rewriting of her story) might be a bit more modest (if there's only a single notable fact remaining).
And yes that was during the "Guerre de Cent Ans" - Hundred Years War (1337 - 1453 but it wasn't a non-stop war, be reassured) - a Civil War in France opposing les Valois (French) and les Plantagenêt (British-backed) but it was essentially during the Revolution and the Prussian Wars that her image was used.

And for your question @sweecee, I think she'll be welcomed with insults and stones :D But even a male prophet would finish the living in the streets, everybody thinking he's a madman.

hmmm... I don't know... more a high test girl who decided to fight what ever the men said... I think she was a shepard or some kind of outdoor activity, and she took arms... doesn't fit at all the profile.

and it wasn't the revolution, way earlier... my history fails me, but I think it was in relation with the northern islands... a certain britany :).

free speech for all !!! A1 - the manifest messianic destiny of america... don't ever betray this ideal.
