Unolabo team welcomed a new developer - Nicolas Cornejo, who is Founder & CEO of SolutionWeb Holding and Co-founder & CTO at Solupres Russia.

The Meeting

At the meeting held this week, Nicolas and the team discussed project’s possible expansion to the Latin America market. They are also thinking about registration of the company in Chile.

The team aims to pilot the platform in the campuses of the universities of Chile. They are planning to add pesos acceptance to the platform. Also, they want to attract insurance companies and airlines to partner with the Unolabo project.

We met with Nicolas and asked him some questions about his view on Unolabo and how it can change the Latin America freelance market. About his work as a Blockchain Developer and what he values the most in the IT field.

What attracted you the most in Unolabo Project? Why did you choose to join its team?

From the first moment I saw the project, I understood that it can change the way of how independent professionals work all around the world. I, myself, had a freelance experience and after exploring the blockchain technology I can say that it contributes and add lots of value to the global labor market. That is why I decided to participate in this project. I know it will be very helpful for thousands of workers not only in Latin America but in the whole world. I'm very proud to be part of this initiative.

Why do you think Latin America needs projects like this? How it can boost the market?

The number of independent workers in Latin America has grown more than 100% in a year. And a lot of them prefer to export their services to foreign countries, where there is a greater demand or simply work conditions are better. Such projects as Unolabo Skillmarket with its Motiva System encourage the export of freelance services, help professionals to develop their skills and work experience. Finally, projects like this demonstrate that independent work can easily cross borders.

What is the key thing you acquired working in IT field?

I believe that soft skills in the IT field are fundamental. The power of abstraction and analysis, understanding of the client and the final user, are key skills that I have managed to acquire with time. They help me to carry out different projects.

What technologies and instruments are you planning to use in the development process of Skillmarket? Why?

One of my tasks within the project is introducing and managing the implementation of an adequate payment gateway for the Chilean and Latin American market in general. For this we are planning to use Web Services, connected through secure protocols TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security), with the corresponding financial entities, in order to comply with the highest security standards.

What do you value the most in your job?

I value working with high-skilled professionals in both technical and human field. Usually we share a lot with our co-workers. It is very important to have pleasant moments and know that we all feel comfortable and give the best of us to achieve goals. On the other hand, I value working with people who are higher-qualified in tech than me. Co-workers are the best source of knowledge ever.

Any advice for those who only start their career as a Blockchain Developer?

The blockchain is a relatively new technology, there is much to learn and improve. I think it is the perfect opportunity for many newbie programmers to exploit their creativity, think outside the box and surprise the world with new solutions. My advice is to be inspired by their own ideas, even if they seem totally crazy. If someone tells you that your idea is impossible to come to life, it means you're on the right way.
