We’re stoked to have so much interest in our upcoming ICO pre-sale, but we’ve noticed that a lot of would-be investors are asking if they can invest using fiat currency: namely US$ and €uros. After all, we’re offering a 30% discount on ICO prices.

While we can’t accept fiat money for our pre-sale, things are looking positive so we will be able to do so during our public crowdsale (24 February to 24 March). If you can’t wait until then to participate, you’ll need to buy some Ether or Bitcoin to get in on the ground floor.

All this new to you? Don’t worry. To help any crypto-newbies out there, we’ve put together this short ‘how to’ guide on setting the wheels in motion.

Step 1 — Get A Wallet

There are loads of different wallets out there, but generally they fall into several categories: online, hardware, and paper wallets. Each offers different advantages and disadvantages, though an online browser-accessible wallet is a good (and free) place to start.

You have probably heard of Coinbase which is a very user-friendly exchange that allows you to buy and hold four different cryptocurrencies in a web-based wallet — Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). However, dedicated wallet services such as GateHub, MyEtherWallet, and CoinPayments can accommodate a variety of different altcoins and may be a safer option than holding your money in an exchange wallet.

If you want to participate in our ICO and receive our TTV tokens (or any ICO tokens for that matter), you’ll need to have some Ether or Bitcoin and an ERC20-compatible wallet. Most ICO tokens are pegged to Ether (ERC20 is the Ethereum token standard and the generic term for these kinds of tokens) and can be easily traded back for ETH. MyEtherWallet is generally regarded as the best option for this, for sheer ease of use (but make sure you use this link — there are a few similarly-named scam sites). You could also try MetaMask.

However, if you’re considering splashing some serious cash and buying a few thousand $ or €s worth of cryptocurrency, consider investing in a hardware wallet — like a Ledger or Trezor device — and be sure to keep them very safe (!).

Step 2 — Buy Some Crypto

While more seasoned investors buy their crypto on exchanges like Bitfinex, Poloniex, and Kraken; newbies may find these difficult and/or time-consuming to get to grips with (though they’re worth exploring).

If you’re in a hurry, Coinbase is by far the quickest way to get hold of some cryptocurrency. You simply link a bank account to your Coinbase account and then buy to your heart’s content. And yes, you can buy a small amount of BTC, ETH, etc — you don’t have to buy a single coin in one go (unless you’re feeling particularly flush).

Having a little crypto in a few different wallets is never a bad idea, so if you’re keen to get involved in an ICO, you can then send some ETH from, say, your Coinbase wallet to an ERC20-compatible ETH wallet — like MyEtherWallet. You’ll see that each ETH wallet has its own address: a 40-character string that starts with ‘0x’. When transferring, make sure you enter the correct receiving address (!).

If you’re looking to buy ETH using another cryptocurrency, you can also use an exchange service like Changelly to ensure a smooth wallet-to-wallet transaction — though this can take some time to complete.

Also, take note: each transaction incurs a small fee known as ‘Gas’ — which is an Ethereum blockchain payment that’s awarded to the miner computing your transaction.

Step 3 — Buy Some Tokens

If you’re reading this before the ICO starts on 24 February, you now have everything you need to join our pre-sale. Start by visiting the TV-TWO website and entering your email address in the ‘Get whitelisted’ box.

Once you’ve done that, we’ll ping you over further details on how to buy — an email that looks like this:

After completing our KYC and signing our agreement for future tokens, you’re all set.

Congrats! You’re now a part of our ICO and bonafide crypto-holder. But the question is, will you ‘HODL’ or fold? Only time will tell...

Mark your calendars… the TV-TWO ICO starts on Saturday February 24, 2018, at 1pm GMT.
