ShipIt: A better Courier Service

Courier Service-

It was my niece's birthday. I was a pretty excited aunt that wanted to shower love on a tiny little being. I had planned a birthday gift for her a long time back, spent days hunting for the perfect one, wrapping it in her favorite Mickey Mouse gift wrapper, and had it sent for the courier.

In the post office, it took me a long time and couple of queues to just state my purpose of visit. Then I had to fill forms, verify them at two or three places and ultimately they took my courier. It was extremely disappointing.

I went and contacted the post office about the same. They said they would look into it. A week passed and there was no action taken. I revisited the place and was told to wait some more. The cycle kept repeating and after a lot of hassle, a courier arrived. That parcel was someone else's, sent to the person I wanted to give the gift to. Dejected, I decided to give up one shipping and delivery options and wait for the person to give him the package face to face.

The shipping industry is one of the biggest industries but it has been very inefficient in its services. Millions of people rely on couriers, especially for cross country transactions. However they're unsafe, and there is the risk of damage, stealing or misplacement of the package. The number of days required for delivery is also outrageously long and there's a lot of trouble when emergency packages are needed to be sent through couriers. Not only common people, but also huge businesses suffer because of all these issues.

At the same time, there are a lot of travellers who are very passionate about travelling. They want to explore the world, and have adventures, view amazing sceneries, learn new things, and interact with a variety. But these travellers are often young people who fall in short of funds to fulfill their dreams. They have to give up on their passion because they are low on money.
