"Minimum Buy In", the new barrier to entry!

Over the past month I've noticed a trend of ICO's setting minimum buy limits, 1 ETH, $200k, "Accredited Investor" etc. Now I have to ask the question...doesn't this totally go against what Crypto is supposed to be about? I mean, from the beginning, the Idea was that everyone should be able to participate...right? It just seems like the "Minimum Buy In" is shaping up to be the new barrier to entry, there are a lot of opportunities here and many will miss out due to this new practice. I would definitely like to hear some feedback on this issue and your views on Companies who use this practice.
