MEDIA PROTOCOL: BLOCKCHAIN FOR PUBLISHERS AND CONTENT CONSUMERS
INTRODUCTION
Search engines and social media platforms have corroded the very nature of content distribution. In fact, they've made it inefficient in reaching it's target goal. Today, authors, publishers and creators of awesome contents rely on huge media platforms to expose their contents to large audience.
However, these platforms take more than they give. Content distribution platform harvests huge amounts of preference data and valuable engagement from content consumers or readers, but offer little incentives to the creators of such contents. In addition, readers or content consumers are denied the opportunity to earn incentives from reading contents and making feedbacks. Well that's about to change, as Media Protocol aims to create a direct economy for the fair exchange of content, incentives, and data.
This blockchain-enabled platform is designed to provide a direct channel for creators and publishers to promote their contents via balanced consumption incentives to readers, and for readers to pay for restricted contents, and to reward their favorite publishers and creators with Media Protocol tokens. This platform is designed to return power to the authors, publishers, and readers, and encourage a community-centric platform with it the influence of media platforms.
WHAT IS MEDIA PROTOCOL
This is an open structure that provides a multi-directional platform in which content consumers, creators, and publishers can exchange data, financial incentives, and most importantly, content. With this, publishers and content creators can directly incentivize the reading of contents via Media tokens. Media token is an ER-20 utility based token that allows content consumers to be rewarded for their data preferences and content interactions. Every stakeholder in content creation and consumption realize the impact that audience plays in the perception, reception, and distribution of any received content.
Media Protocol provides a two-way token transfer from publishers to consumers, and vice versa, in which consumers pay for walled contents, and can also tip their favorite publishers. In addition zit, this platform allows publishers and content creators to directly interact with their content readers, without the need for an intermediary.
USE CASE OF MEDIA PROTOCOL FOR CONSUMERS
Let's paint a scenario: Jack is a regular person, who is interested in reading tech-related articles and follows new YouTube clips on the latest technologies. Most often, he finds his articles of interest on Facebook, Google, and YouTube. With Media Protocol, Jack will able to utilize any app that integrates with Media Protocol, to watch and read tech-related contents. He will be rewarded by performing actions that benefits the content creators. Actions such as reading the content, sharing the contents, and recording preferences, can generate income for Jack through Media Protocol.
USE CASE OF MEDIA PROTOCOL FOR CONTENT PRODUCERS
Tech publishers producers tech-related contents for people who are interested in technology like Jack. Normally, this publisher will post his content on website, and paste the link on social media platforms. They will pay these platforms to boost their posts, in the hopes that someone like Jack will click on it. Media Protocol provides another alternative for these publishers by creating a direct channel to link them with content consumers, and to be incentivized for their contents.
