ARWEAVE: THE FUTURE OF DATA STORAGE

Information is very vital in this time and age, the lack of information makes the world seem backward. With information, the thinking faculty comes alive and promotes problem solving, asking questions, getting different opinions, making conclusions. We often feel that information is readily available which is not correct. It is just like a possession, it can be lost, altered or tampered with, it could even be destroyed by being burnt. Information from internet sources are often diluted where authors try to summarize another authors work and ends up losing sight of the main information. It can be revoked when we try to access it on the internet, some servers even request for fees before access to data can be granted and upon expiration of the fees, the information becomes limited. The government, media and some institutions filter or dilute the information they disseminate thereby altering it. These are the problems that are involved in information dissemination.

Blockchain technology where information storage and security is its number one priority is becoming too costly to operate on even on the Ethereum blockchain. Arweave intends to create a storage facility that is permanent and imputable like on Ethereum. Even with the high cost that is accompanied with data storage, Arweave have devised plans and strategies that can help facilitate high performance rate in currency transactions.

With the implementation of a new blockchain technology by Arweave, low cost for storing data is possible. Information dissemination in the past must have been handled by a single company which gave it the freedom to alter information either by modification or forgery, take the bible for an example, there are many scriptures that remain unclear to mankind but Arweave has a weaving storage access that once data is imputed on the weave, it will be translated in codes and transported through to other blocks on the weave whereby once there is an attack or an attempt to tamper with the coded data, it will be recognized and rejected by the network making the information undiluted.

The Arweave system is mainly for developers to build applications that will use and create data from the network, these applications will range from decentralization to discussion websites. When information is to be passed unto the weave, a small amount of token is required to pay the miners for working on and maintaining the weave. These tokens are called Arweave tokens and are expected to become a valuable asset to information.

There are four basic technologies embedded in Arweave to ensure low cost, high throughput and permanent storage on the new blockchain built by the Arweave network;
A. Blockweave; Arweave unlike most blockchain do not store blocks before they can participate in transaction validation. With the block hash and wallet list both synchronized by the network and downloadable to miners, blocks can be verified without being processed. The use of the block hash and wallet list helps new miners to easily download and participate without the need for a verification process and also to prevent block forging all hash are sent out with new blocks.

B. Proof of Access; Proof of Access fuses data from any pervious block and proof of Work generates a successive block from a previous block. Miners therefore can store any pervious block to form a weave fusing to the next block that is picked.

C. Wildfire; this technology is decentralized and aids in supplying information rapidly and allows easy access to this information by creating a ranking system which determines how information is distributed.

D. Blockshadows; reduces transaction from blocks and sends data in between nodes to peers to allow them recreate a new block. This makes the blockshadow system fast and flexible in terms of distribution.

Conclusion
With the new blockchain built by Arweave network using the four core technologies we can safely expect that information will no longer be altered and information dissemination will be fast and accessed easily at a minimal cost.
