QUADRANT'S APPROACH TO THE CHALLENGES IN THE CURRENT DATA ECONOMY

According to Wikipedia, "Data can be seen as a general concept which refers to the fact that some existing information or knowledge is coded in some form good enough for better usage or processing".
Furthermore, Smart cities, plants, as well as machines, depend on smart analytics so as to put big data into context in real time thus optimizing decision making. Powering today's analytic tools are;
a. Advanced algorithms,
b. Artificial intelligence (AI),
c. Machine learning,
d. Digital twins; all these pulls, disorganized, disconnected and "dark" data into the mix of available information and make it actionable. The word "dark" means the act of capturing data while it remains unused (Sheila Kennedy, 2018).
Yes, a good amount of this data is needed to power today's algorithms, AI etc, but the result expected has been cut short owing to the problems plaguing the current data economy. In order to solve these problems associated with the current data economy led a team of brilliant minds into a creating a project known as QUADRANT PROTOCOL.

PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE CURRENT DATA ECONOMY

A study has shown that there are 4 major problems facing or limiting the current data economy.

  1. A Widening AI Data Gap Between The Haves and Have-Not: It's a well-known fact that AI requires a huge amount of data, but the limiting factor is; not every company can access it. Although the data exist, it's fragmented, exist in different types and scattered across various industries thus making it difficult for small companies to access the right volume needed for their works. On the other hand, big companies like Google have the resources needed to collect as well as storing as much amount or volumes of data needed for their AI activities, thus being the only ones creating all the needed product and services. This, in the long run, leads to a wider gap between the haves and have-nots. These small companies are termed "have-nots" while the big companies are termed "haves".
  2. Fake and Unauthentic Data: It is in human nature to be dubious especially when money is involved (although it takes much wisdom to curtail it). A study has shown that data is easy to fake, copy or misinterpreted, thus data vendors try to game the system not minding the repercussions so far they make money while data consumers are at the receiving end as unauthentic or fake data gives a catastrophic result.
  3. Unsustainable Data Ecosystem: It is a well-known fact that when money is involved, companies or employees will work hard because they know the amount of money involved or they will be paid well and vice versa. As nothing goes for nothing, data producers always find it hard continually producing the needed volume as well as the authentic data needed owing to the fact that they are not properly paid.
  4. Fair Revenue Distribution: This is the part where producers of data are always marginalized. When data is produced, these producers are only paid once while data vendors sell the data over and over again, as data producers have no way of knowing what happens to the data downstream.

THE SOLUTION

The solution to the problems limiting the current data economy is Quadrant Protocol.
First, what is Quadrant Protocol all about?
Quadrant Protocol is a blockchain-based network protocol providing authentic access to the creation of data as well as the distribution of data products and services.

d. Data Consumers: These are made up of AI and Machine Learning companies. They purchase these data products so as to power their data-driven companies.

Quadrant's Solution to The Problems Limiting The Current Data Economy
Quadrant Protocol invents features which are used to solve the problems in the current data economy.
These features are;

  1. Proof of Data Authenticity and Provenance: Quadrant Protocol believes that trust is the bedrock of every successful business. With the aid of blockchain technology, Quadrant Protocol aims to build a data economy based on trust, thus leading to transparency and reliability. With blockchain technology, the trust will be promoted owing to the fact that;
    a. All saved data cannot be manipulated (decentralized nature of blockchain technology),
    b. All saved data can be stamped thus being able to be tracked (time stamping nature of blockchain technology).
    This, in the long run, will enable all stakeholders to be able to know the origin of each data feed at any point in time, thereby trust is promoted while reliability is achieved.

Constellations for Disparate Data Sources: Constellations in Quadrant Protocol can also be called Data Products, thus constellations are believed to be the key used in bringing different data sources together in a such a manner that Pioneers, Elons etc can have access to it thereby competing with top organizations.
    With constellations, a new level playing ground is created giving all and sundry access to the required amount of data, this, in the long run, gives rise to the following;
    a. Establishment of new businesses,
    b. People being able to build on top of existing data from others rather than re-creating the same data,
    c. Smart developers are given access to a payment system through the process of creating valuable data products from raw data sets,
    d. A new generation of data scientists is formed with the purpose of discovering revolutionary insights.
  3. Fair Remuneration and Incentive Sharing: With this feature, any aggregated data product sold on the Quadrant network, the generated revenue will be evenly distributed thus Pioneers won't have to worry about how much incentive the Nurseries deserves. All this is carried out without the need for a third party.

QUADRANT PROTOCOL TOKEN

Quadrant Protocol will make use of two different tokens in its ecosystem, namely;
a. eQuad which is an ERC20 token built of Ethereum blockchain having a total supply of 1,000,000,000. This is the token which will be sold during the token sale.
b. QUAD, on the other hand, is the currency of Quadrant Protocol ecosystem.
On successful launching of the mainnet, all eQuad will be converted to QUAD.
