Greetings, dear friends. Today, in my article, I want to tell you about the Arweave project. This is a blockchain of data intended for data storage. With a new mechanism of consensus and a new type of mining.

The existing blockchain libraries are not able to store and process large data sets, so that it is fast and cheap. While the demand for decentralized data warehouses is constantly growing. In those technologies, which are now the data warehouse on the blockchain is unprofitable. For example, in Etherium or NEO.
Another big problem is the censorship and the loss of data on the Internet. In the history of mankind, a huge amount of valuable information has been destroyed or subject to censorship. From the fire at the Alexandria Library and rewriting Socrates to modern scandals with Wikileaks and Cambridge Analytic. Moreover, even the Bible has been rewritten several times, and we do not know the original authors.
With the solution of these problems is the project Arweave. His team creates a new blockchain structure called Blockweave (literally, it can be translated as a "block-pattern").

ArWeave is built on four core technologies that work together to create low-cost, high-performance, storage space on a new blog:

Blockweave
Proof of access
Wildfire
Blockshadows

Blockweave
The first of these concepts is the list of hashes of all previous blocks. This allows you to check the old blockchains and effectively evaluate the potential new blockchains. The second of these concepts is the list of all active wallets in the system. The list of hashes and wallets is constantly synchronized on the network and is available for download to the miners. The problem for existing blockchain is the loading of the entire blockchain for the functioning of the node. In this case, only the hash sheet and the "wallet" sheet on the node is loaded. Thus, a consensus is reached and there is no need to always maintain a large volume of the whole block.

Proof of access
Arweave's consensus mechanism is based on proof of access (PoA) and proof of work (PoW). In the Blockweave network, it is not necessary for miners to store all blocks, you can save any of the previous blocks. It is also called the "recall block" or the recall block. It is selected by reading the hash of the current block and its module relative to the block size. Transactions in the response block are hashed along with the data in the current block to get the next block. When the member finds the appropriate hash, he distributes the new block together with the block of recall by other members of the network. This allows other members of the network, even those who do not have a copy of the block of leave themselves, make sure that the new block is valid.

Wildfire
As a storage system Arweave requires not only the ability to store large volumes of information, but also provide access to this data in the simplest form. In addition, an important part of the Arweave system is the trouble-free access to this one.
Wildfire is a system that solves the problem of data sharing in a decentralized network, which makes fast data network requests. Wildfire works by creating a ranking system that is local to each node, which determines how fast new blocks and transactions are distributed between homogeneous nodes based on how quickly they respond to requests and take data from others.

Blockshadows
In the traditional block, each time the block is created, it extends to all networks. This reduces speed. Only the so-called Blockshadows or Shadow Blocks containing the hash of the wallet list and the hash list are sent to Arweave. That. Instead of transactions inside the block there are hashes of these transactions. This technology allows you to generate up to 5000 transactions per second. And this is really a working system.

Using Arweave
With this blockchain, developers can create various decentralized applications. You can keep various statistics that will be unchanged. From recording patients in the hospital to fair and transparent elections, when the voices result can not be faked and changed.
