EON- Decentralized Gaming Platform
Good day guys! Today I'd be doing a review on a very ambitious project with an interesting idea. The project is called EON and it is dedicated to virtual reality and video games themselves. This project will provide an opportunity to step out of the shadow of young and talented developers and show a new generation of game creators. But let's take it all step by step.
The gaming industry is actively developing. Over the past year, the turnover from the sale of game content has grown to 150 billion US dollars. Many digital giants such as Steam, Google Play, AppStore and others dominate the market and dictate their terms.
If the developer does not release his game on one of these platforms, he will not have a chance to recoup his offspring and become more or less famous in the gaming community. At the same time, the conditions for selling content on these services are simply predatory. Platforms collect commission from each sold game in the amount of 30 to 50%. This aspect directly affects the sales and success of companies. Not every user is willing to pay a high price for the game. In the absence of a real alternative, many companies and users are forced to go to such restrictions and large commissions.
Companies like apple, android and others has been having a large chunk of the game revenue by providing players through distribution of the games. Also, a lot of finances has been injected in promoting the games through advertising. Facebook, google and other platforms has also been an avenue for these developers to promote their games.
However, the large amount of finance invested in attracting players and distributing the games has made the developers more concerned about exposure rather than quality. The distribution method of the games are centralised and has caused the developers a lot of finance in promoting the games. Developers no longer invest so much in making sure the game is up to standard, knowing fully well that they are going to spend hugely in marketing and distributing the games.
Big companies with high financial power use it in marketing their games and attract players and attention from a lot of people while developing studios with a low financial power are frustrated to the point of abandoning their games due to lack of finance to market the game. In the quest to resolve the underlying challenges, the EON Foundation was established.
The platform has distinctive features that allow to differ from analogues in the market, namely:

The EON platform is designed with a game discover system where users of the platform can discover, purchase and play games of their interest. This system will however support the domestic cryptocurrency coins as a means of payment for the games. Users are also allowed to submit new games, this is however designed for better discovery of games. Meanwhile, the gamers that follow the submitted game and plays it is however counted as referrals of the submitter on their smart contract.
