Karatcoin allows open and public authentication of all asset documents stored in a decentralized database through our Proof of Asset (PoA) protocol, developed in the EOS Blockchain block, by integrating IPFS (InterPlanetary Files System) to track the entire authentication path through its chain of custody.

Our goal is to build a platform for trading gold certificates, exchange Karatcoin tokens, as well as save and exchange currency using gold cards.

DPOS Consensus

Karat Blockchain uses a DPoS consensus (delegated proof of rate), which improves performance and reduces power consumption than any other chain consensus.

Karatcoin utilizes a negotiated equity tolerance (DPoS) for effective quality control. DPoS allows delegated block makers and voters to maintain a network for distributing content.

Delegates are responsible for verifying transactions and relay blocks. Voters can also monitor uptime to ensure participation in the distribution of blocks. Delegates who "voted" no longer receive remuneration and voters tend to participate, receiving a portion of the rewards.

Documents immutability

All transitions are stored in a public book inside Blockchain Carat, and all asset documents are stored as images in IPFS (interplanetary file system) to ensure their immutability (thus giving everyone the opportunity to check and verify them).

Files uploaded to the IPFS server are permanent due to their unique identifier, but become permanent when files are distributed across the network and stored in memory using pinning.
