XYO Network | Bringing Blockchain to the Real World

What is XYO Network?
XYO Network (XY Oracle Network) is the first of its kind! They are building a location network, that is different than the typical centralized GPS network. XYO Network is establishing a "distributed network of interconnected devices", which will be used for sharing the location of the devices as well as executing the smart contracts to share the data. This will be used through their Proof of Origin algorithm.
The Team
XYO Network is a very special platform as it is being built from an organization that was founded back in 2012, XY Findables. XY Findables was founded by their CEO, who is also the standing CEO of XYO Network, Arie Trouw.
Mr. Trouw has a long history in leading different organizations Yontoo LLC, Sambreel Holdings LLC, as well as XY Findables! Over the last 6 years, Mr. Trouw and the team at XY Findables has made it their goal to use different technologies to make different items "findable". They are now using this previous experience to build a platform to use interconnected devices to find the location of different items and products!
The Platform
There are four main components to the XYO Network that will allow it to be brought to life. These four are:
- Sentinels
- Bridges
- Archivists
- Diviners
Sentinels
Sentinels, in short, are the parts of the XYO Network that confirm the location of devices. These "Sentinels" are extremely necessary for the platform because they create ledgers to validate the origin that something came from the same source by sending different cryptographic proofs. These Sentinels can then be rewarded in XYO tokens for confirming these queries and create these ledgers that are similar to their peers.
Bridges
Bridges are used as transcribers who send the location data from the Sentinels to the Archivists. In addition to this, they also add an additional layer of confirmation on the Sentinels data location (2nd layer of Proof of Origin). The bridges are rewarded when the information that has been transcribed ends up being answered via a query.
Archivists
When the Bridges sent the location information to the Archivists, I bet you can guess what they do! They store the data in a decentralized ledger! When an Archivist doesn't store the data properly, it will just make the location data less accurate- it won't mess it up in any way. In order for Archivists to be rewarded on the XYO Network, the data that they share needs to be shared from one Archivist to another- this also creates another layer of PoO.
Diviners
The purpose for the Diviner on the XYO Network is to find the most accurate data that was shared through the platform, whether it was from the Sentinels, Bridge, or Archivists- this is probably the most complex and difficult part of the process. They then find which platform, whether its on the Ethereum, IOTA, Stellar, NEO, or Qtum blockchain, for the queries on the XYO smart contract. This is probably one of the most impressive parts of XYO Network's platform. Instead of being only deployable on one individual blockchain network, it can be deployed on any of them!! Allowing for the smart contract to be executed and confirmed as quickly as possible.
Use Cases
There are many different use cases that can be brought to attention for the platform. Some of those use cases are:
- eCommerce
- Medical Care and Hospitals
- Rental Car Agencies
- Commercial Airline Luggage Logistics
- Insurance Agencies
- National Security (TSA) Agencies
- Drone Package Delivery Systems
With these many different use cases, I want to dive into the one I find to be the most interesting! One of the up and coming parts of delivery services will be conducted through drones. One of the most well known companies that is doing this is Amazon. They are really trying to bring drone delivery to the real world! This would be possible because with the many different smart devices that could validate the location of the drones, it would make the estimated delivery time in real-time!! Whether Amazon, or a company of their stature, ends up conducting these type of services outside of their doors by contracting? I don't know. However, having the capability to implement this type of technology into the real world definitely puts XYO Network into great hands.
