Cuisine of Wisconsin

The food of Wisconsin is a kind of Midwestern cuisine that can be found all around the state of Wisconsin in America. Wisconsin is referred to as "America's Dairyland"[1] and is well-known for its cheese, cheese products like cheese curds, and dairy goods like frozen custard. In addition, the area is known for its bratwursts, beer, Old Fashioned drinks, butter burgers, fish boils and fries, and booyah stew.

Dairy
Many frozen custard outlets may be found throughout dairy Wisconsin, especially in the Milwaukee area and along the Lake Michigan corridor. Similar to ice cream, frozen custard is a treat made from eggs.

Ice cream
One of the Midwestern states where blue moon ice cream is frequently sold is Wisconsin. It is said that the flavor is comparable to Froot Loops. Although the flavor's beginnings are unclear, Milwaukee-based flavor chemist Bill "Doc" Sidon is most likely responsible.

When attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison, On-campus milk, cheese, and ice cream are produced and sold by Babcock Dairy Plant and Store. [2] Because beef gelatin is used as a stabilizing element in Babcock ice cream, most of its flavors are not vegetarian. [3]

Milwaukee gave birth to the small-batch ice cream company Scratch.

Cheese
The presence of numerous cheesemakers in the state is well known. Wisconsin now has 58 Master Cheesemakers, all of whom have passed a rigorous selection procedure established by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. [5] Outside of Europe, this program is the only one of its sort.

Wisconsin cheesemaking, however, is considerably more varied, ranging from small-scale producers who make their product by hand using milk from their own dairy herds to huge factories. Wisconsin is where Colby cheese was first made in 1885. (named after the town it came from),In the state, brick cheese was first produced in 1877. The state is also the sole producer of Limburger cheese in the US and contributed to the development of Blue Marble Jack cheese.

As a snack, cheese curds can be eaten "squeaky," or cold, or they can be dipped in batter and fried as an appetizer. Ranch dressing is frequently given as a dipping sauce.

A well-known variety of bread made and sold by Stella's Bakery in Madison, Wisconsin is hot and spicy cheese bread.
