The Vision Behind HyperLoop

Hyperloop is high speed mode of passenger and freight transportation that propels a levitating pod-like vehicle through a near-vacuum tube at more than speeds typically found in airplanes. The Hyperloop was an idea envisioned by Elon Musk, and was publicized as a competition among university students to create a sustainable design structure that would be realistic to build.
This eventually led to the creation of 'Hyperloop One', a company whose main purpose to build the first hyper loop transportation system between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
