[Science Trends #2] World's First Hydrogen Train in Germany

in #hydrogen6 years ago

It's a brilliant step by Germany to go green.

A French firm named Alstom made a train which will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells that generate electricity through a chemical reaction. This will produce no emissions of carbon dioxide. In this way the environmental pollution will be reduced as well as climate change.

On Monday, September 17,2018 two trains went into commercial service on a rail line in northern Germany near Hamburg. The trains will serve cities including Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven. They also claimed that those trains will be cheaper alternative to stringing wires on rail lines that are not electrified.

Overall it's a breakthrough taken by Germany to save our environment.
