Hydro is a Cryptocurrency. but before we go further, What is a Hydro Raindrop?

Hydro is derived from a Greek word "hudōr" meaning water
Rain is derived from Old English, rēn, reġn meaning " Condensed water from a cloud." So does drop, which describes the "action of a falling object". Therefore, Raindrop is the art of condensed water falling from a cloud

Currency is derived from Latin currens "condition of flowing" or currere "to run". Today we use the word to describe a system of money in general use by a population, money being a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes.
Putting it all together, cryptocurrency is a system of writing and solving codes as a medium of exchange.

But how can Hydro "a cryptocurrency" be use in securing platforms from breaches?

At The Blockcity

Let's ignore the cryptocurrency aspect of Hydro for a moment, let's look at how anything can be secured.

Defined as processes and controls that are designed to protect systems, networks and data from cyber attacks. Cyber security reduces the risk of cyber attacks, and protects organisations and individuals from the unauthorized exploitation of systems, networks and technologies.

Historically, people have used shields, Swords, Bow & Arrows even stones to protect their loved ones but now hydro is using raindrop to protect love ones in both private and public systems. All these have a physical presence in the world and a value attached to them.

Security can be in different forms such as Preventative, Detective, and Responsive. Controls (such as documented processes) and countermeasures(such as firewalls) must be implemented as one or more of these previous types, or the controls are not there for the purposes of security.

But how did these payment method turns into modes of protection?

Imagine there is a town called blockcity and in this city, there are so many estates that forms the community. Blockcity council is responsible for the transfer of any property within the whole community, so it has every based title directory about any property within the city. Blockcity council never had a case of 'double ownership' of property in their care, and it always keep records of all transactions performed within the city.

Before the establishment of the blockcity council, crime rate were high, fake properties document are easily forged, property burglars are having a field day, transfer of properties is unbearable and many cases of fraud are always reported. After the establishment of the blockcity council ten years ago, Hydro council came up with a brillant idea on how to curb the menace in the community by building a great platform called raindrop. The technology is intended to provide additional security layer for sensitive properties that is increasingly at risk from hacking and breaches. The Hydro platform leverage on the decentralized nature of the blockcity council to fight property crime.

Hydro estate is a highly secured estate with the most high tech security called "raindrops" found within the blockcity community. Each property in the estate have different design and carried similar security protocols. All the estate resident who enjoyed raindrop signed a smart 'property security' contract agreement with the estate. The only way anyone can gain entry into their property is by identifying themselves properly to the high tech security gadget installed in their homes and by the general consensus of the whole blockcity community.

Property owners can secure their property by the power of brickcity council, but before any property could be secured(raindropped), the owner need to carry out some processes. The process begins with registering the property with the Hydro Estate council and obtaining credentials, enabling the property to communicate with the blockcity council through the Hydro Estate council. The property allows the owner who registers his biometrics, and then passes the registered biometrics to Hydro Estate council. This biometrics is permanently written onto the blockcity directory to a document stored in a Hydro Estate council. The property receives a confirmation that the biometrics was documented, which can also be verified as a publicly viewable at the blockcity council. Any property registration need only to occur once, while the owner documentation need only to occur once per owner.

After registration is complete, the main Hydro estate authentication process can begin. The owner, who must execute a Value Added Service transaction, starts the process by requesting Raindrop details from the property, and the property routes the request to Hydro Estate council . Hydro Estate council generates a new Raindrop, stores certain details permanently on the blockcity council, and returns the full details to the owner through his property. The owner, equipped with all necessary information, conducts a transaction from his registered biometrics to a account in the Hydro smart contract which is located in the blockcity council. If the biometrics of the owner is not documented, the action is rejected - otherwise, it is recorded in the blockcity smart contract. It is important to note that this transaction should occur outside of the property, directly from the owner to the Blockcity, as it must be signed with the owner's passwords (which only the owner should be able to obtain).

The final step of the process is Validation. The owner officially requests access to his property via the property's established protocols. Prior to implementing any of its standard authentication protocols, the property asks Hydro Estate council whether or not the owner has performed a valid Value Added Services (VAS) transaction. Hydro Estate interfaces with the smart property security contract, checks for validity, and responds with a Yes/No confirmation. if it is 'Yes', the house can grant access, and if it is 'No', the house can deny access.

The Front Door

Most times properties owners(Landlords) rent out their properties (apartments) to tenants. Renting out apartments doesn't mean that the owner dont have control over their properties, it only means giving certain access of the property to another user(tenant). This access is always a limited one. Landlords gives tenant access to their apartment through the front doors and every tenants needs to abide by the owners guidelines in order to remain tenants.

Tenants can also have access to their apartment within a property but only with the initial permission of the owner. they need to perform certain kind of authentication to begin with, which differs alot from the owners authentication. The tenants authentication are more simpler and easy to establish since the landlord has already secured the back doors which is the most important aspect that allows tenants to leverage on the landlord initial framework of authentication
Normally, tenants always have access to their apartment long before the owner decides to add an additional security layer to his property called raindrop. Now that the property is more secure from the back ends, the tenants can also secure their apartment from the front ends. The idea for tenants to secure their front doors is optional but the landlords always makes it a top priority for his tenant to improve the security of their apartment by adding an additional security layer to their apartment front ends in order to avoid break-in.

The tenant need to begin the process by downloading the Hydro Estate 2FA app in either the Apple App store or Android play store. The app allows tenants to secure access to their apartments on the blockcity, and also secure tenants access and interactions to private actions.(payment of VAS, Entry access etc).

As you can see from this story, the defining element of Hydro Raindrop isn't the form it takes, its the utility it carries. Critical number of people will agreed with me that the value of Hydro raindrop is in its ability in securing both private and public systems.
