Harvey Is Now A Cat. 4/Path of Destruction.
It looks like Harvey is going to make landfall just north of Corpus Christi. It's now packing 130 mph winds and is expected to dump 35 inches of rain in Texas. The good news is it looks like it's not going to hit a heavily populated area but it's still going to cause massive flooding to a large area of Texas as it's expected to loop around and head back out to sea.
Damn nature...you scary
God help those who have chosen to stay. Keep them safe, Lord.
Something that big hits, it hits hard, the winds do some big damage but there should be major flooding and this is really the greatest danger, I hope people got out of the area ahead of the storm, it's always better to be safe even if things don't turn out as bad as expected. Hurricanes are really dangerous.
See, the floods are the problem, the winds pass, cause there damage and are gone, but these flood waters remain for days, then you get the waters getting pestilent and it all gets worse. I am no expert on Hurricanes but I have been through two catastrophic ones with thousands of dead people, and most of the deaths were because of flooding. The main problem is people in spite of being aware of the danger are afraid of leaving their belongings and stay put, this is not wise, rescue people are not going to risk their lives to try to get people out of a situation they put themselves in, I know this sounds hard but if I try to save someone who is in a very dangerous place I am now jeopardizing two people's lives his and mine. So everyone should be aware if something like this is going to happen get the hell out of the lowlands, that is what people in Houston should have done, I don't care what the mayor said. Let's hope there is as little loss of life as possible, everything else is secondary.
