I hate to admit but I just found out I am a racist…

So many words end in –ist and being the kind of person I am, always searching for truth, I decided to look up what the true definition and use of -ist . So I went to Dictionary.com and looked it up. Here is what I found…

a suffix of nouns, often corresponding to verbs ending in -ize or nouns ending in -ism, that denote a person who practices or is concerned with something, or holds certain principles, doctrines, etc.:
apologist; dramatist; machinist; novelist; realist; socialist; Thomist.

Well fellow Steemians it appears to me I have been a racist for over fifty years and never realized it. You see, I grew up loving the sport of racing. I was exactly eleven years old when I went to my first stock car race at the local speedway and I was hooked ever since.
As I grew so did my racism , when I was old enough to drive at that speedway I became a fully fledged racist behind the wheel of a 1962 Chevy Impala bearing the # 18 on the side doors. My racist skills were not as good as some of the other racists and I only raced a few years but I continued my racist ways by becoming a racist helper also known as a mechanic or crew member.

I worked my way up the levels of racing being a racist crew member in stock cars, open wheel cars, and drag racing.
Some of the racist associations I belonged to and competed in were ASA, ARCA, USAC, NHRA , NASCAR and INDY CAR.

So as you can see, my racist history is pretty lengthy. So if anyone dare call me a racist and think it will offend me you are dead wrong. I am proud to be a racist now that I finally took the time to search for the truth.

Maybe society should look at how they use the term racist and reconsider, maybe use “colorist” or something because last time I check we are all members of the human race, just with a variety of colors.
