hahaha, you take your rifle that quickly? luckily we don't need to have a riffle here, no one bothers us at night :D At times I want someone to, when I feel lonely lol

Their love is true, that is why they work cheap

I have never needed the rifle at night, but I have the right to do so. I keep a significant rifle next to my bed, because I can. I do not expect to need it, but if I do need it, I practice a lot....

The best projection of deadly force is that which is used to defend hearth and home.

GOD Forbid that that ever happens, but if it does, may he make me fast and accurate!

But I pray that peace continues!

That is superb, you are always prepared and equipped in case if you need a rifle at any time, you have it and are more than good at it.

True, stay safe out there my frined and keep steeming / wekuing

If you want peace, prepare for war is NOT a new expression! It has worked for thousands of years!

The original Latin of the expression "if you want peace, prepare for war" comes from the book "Epitoma Rei Militaris," by the Roman general Vegetius (whose full name was Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus). The Latin is, "Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum."

I am just taking their advice, which is still good a couple of thousand years later....

Wow, yeah that can actually have some impact, good words were mostly said by the people of that era

Well, they ruled the known world back when this was said, so it does give a little strength, ROFLOL!

They were smart to allow those they controlled to follow their own beliefs, and still to be part of the overall "Pax Romana" (the peace of Rome)!

True, the general concept is that with time people are gaining more and more freedom to keep their beliefs but in my belief its the clear opposite

Sadly, when one person gets some authority over a second person; they want more. Each time they gain more power, the second person is less free; and the first one still wants more! We are now in that spiral of power versus freedom.

Now the first person has decided that they are entitled to permanent use of that loaned power. This is the beginning of a permanent ruling class, or violence to remind the first that they are not rulers.

They do not seem to understand that:

He that complies against his will
is of his own opinion still
Which he may adhere to, yet disown,
For reasons to himself best known

Samuel Butler's (1612-1680) ginormous 17th-century poem Hudibras. Part III, Canto iii, lines 547-550.

Basically, using force to convert, does NOT actually convert! Only rational debate can do this; except they fear free thought and speech. Interesting mess!

The Founding Fathers here understood this problem in Human nature, and allowed for it in our Bill of Rights, by ensuring free speech, and ensuring we were armed, in case debate failed.
