Bible quote: When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2

In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon gives us a teaching on pride and humility: "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." Proverbs 11:2.
The Bible is explaining something very logical to us, pride is a passion that comes from self-love, not from the love of God. And with pride comes prejudice, and prejudice makes listening impossible. Knowing how to listen is the basis of good decisions: "For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers" Proverbs 11:14; and: "Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers" Proverbs 24:6. In difficult and critical moments, pride becomes a double-edged sword, a great intelligence can hide pride, but when pride (and the ambition) is coupled with a lack of logical reasoning sooner or later there is a great conflict nearby. A large part of the prison population responds to this type of profile.
Let us remember that many times misfortunes strike in that place where we feel safest, that is, they come from where we least expect them; because misfortunes often arise from small mistakes that go unnoticed.

Humility, on the other hand, is a virtue that predisposes us for better things: "You beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.", 1 Peter 3:3-4; and:
"Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ´Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all´", Mark 9:35.
Humility, that is, not considering others less, open the door to the best of God, his wisdom: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up," James 4:10.
