Yes, I've heard about this over the years & if memory serves, I talked to a guy who was held prisoner there & finally he got out.

They take away their passports. They do that in China too.

It's the WORST situation to be in, but I thought you said they were Americans who were being held as slaves, so I got confused, as usually they are from India, Pakistan, etc. : )

And don't think this is just a Middle Eastern thing...

There are plenty of Americans & Canadians who bring over girls from many countries to work as nannies or housekeepers & hold them hostage too, not to mention they abuse them.
