The United States officially "nod", allowing a number of US giants to re-send to Huawei

According to the latest news on the 23rd, the United States has reached consensus with a number of US technology giants in the meeting, and has allowed US companies to resume selling products to Huawei. According to informed sources, the US companies that participated in the conference include Cisco, Intel, Qualcomm, Micron Technology and Alphabet, and the license to resume sales will take effect in the next few weeks.

There is no reason for the US company to be in a hurry. Without the permission, most of the parts of the US companies could not be sold to Huawei. Therefore, this situation has directly affected the US chip manufacturers and other suppliers. For example, Broadcom, a US communications semiconductor company, has cut its revenue forecast for this year by a full $2 billion. And Huawei's other seller, Micron Technology, also has a deep "feel".

Micron's latest financial report shows that as of the first half of FY 2019, nearly 13% of Micron's revenue was related to Huawei, and Huawei is its largest single customer. In addition, SK Hynix, Samsung and other Korean suppliers are ready to eat the share of Micron's supply. Micron's semiconductor sales are indeed not optimistic. Therefore, at this meeting, Micron stressed: “Ensuring fair trade in a level playing field is critical to the US and global economic growth.” From the perspective of the overall DRAM memory market share, The DRAM suppliers selected by Huawei are mainly concentrated between SK Hynix, Samsung and Micron. Among them, Samsung has a market share of 42.7%, SK Hynix with 29.9% and Micron with 23%. In other words, for Huawei, the supply changes of US companies naturally have an impact, but they are not irreplaceable.

More importantly, Huawei's performance growth has not slowed down in the past two months before the announcement of the license. According to the latest news this month, Huawei has already seized more than 50 5G commercial contracts worldwide, 28 of which are from Europe. In terms of independent research and development, Huawei's R&D investment in the next five years will reach 100 billion US dollars. In other words, the importance of US companies in the Huawei supply chain may be further weakened in the future.
