Huawei reinstated in the SD Association. First step in peace with the US?

in #huawei5 years ago

Heavy days for Huawei who received the no and abandonment of many American companies like Google, Intel, ARM and more after the ban made indirectly against him by the U.S. government. The SD Association has also dissociated itself from Huawei in recent days by removing access to it together with the other members. A situation that would have made integration of micro-SD readers on the next smartphones impossible for the Shenzen giant. Now it seems the association was back on its feet and Huawei would have been restored.

Huawei re-established in the SD Association Indeed by looking at the list of the various companies on Huawei Technologies Co, the official portal of the SD Association. Ltd. is also showing off, an unambiguous sign that after being excluded for a few days, the Chinese company has been reintegrated into the association. In addition, according to Android Autorithy, Huawei's direct representative confirmed this re-establishment but was unable to comment further.

We recall that the SD Association is a non-profit organization created to define the standards to be used in electronic devices for memory cards. One way is to simplify use in all countries and optimize performance. To date, the SD Association has approximately 1,000 member companies involved in SD standards design and development.

Clearly, the exclusion would not have created any problems already on the market for Huawei smartphones that integrate a micro-SD reader: the latter would have continued to work regularly and read the expansion cards. The problem would arise in the future as the company would have had to use non-top-end smartphones to use cards other than conventional SD cards. A solution already taken in some way in Huawei, given that its top-of - the-range products such as Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei P30 and P30 Pro no longer have the classic memory expansion Micro SD but the new and proprietary NM Card: safer and, above all, faster.

To get such resolutions, Huawei will still have to fight. Bans with other firms are still active, but in fact perhaps something is beginning to move and who knows if this is not a real first step towards a US peaceful solution.
