HTC EXODUS - First blockchain phone for cryptocurrencies enthusiasts

HTC's first blockchain phone was officially introduced. This is called EXODUS 1 and is available exclusively online for those who are willing to pay for it with cryptocurrencies. The phone is based on the already-established HTC U12 + hardware, making it a high-end phone with special software designed for cryptocurrency transactions with many dedicated features.

The handset features a 18: 9 QHD + 6-inch screen, a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, a dual-sided rear (12 + 16 megapixel) and a 3,500 mAh battery. It is made entirely of glass, with a metal frame on the edges, is waterproof and dust-resistant to the IP6 standard and benefits from the same non-mechanical physical buttons as HTC U12 +.

At software level, the phone is running Android Oreo, which has undergone a number of changes. We're dealing with an operating system-independent security zone that will keep access keys for crypto accounts (NTFs). Thus, those data can be accessed only by the user, without the applications in it being able to interact with them.

Then there is Social Key Recovery, which offers the ability to restore the access keys to crypto accounts if the phone is lost, stolen or forgotten. It works by using security contacts, which can download a key management application on their own phones. The key is thus divided into several pieces that are then distributed to the contacts. Using Social Key Recovery, these chunks can be rebuilt to get access to your funds again.

HTC will try to create a community around this phone by creating a dedicated Telegram channel called HTC EXODUS (OFFICIAL). This is where the Taiwanese company hopes to build up the blockchain concept, offering even a developer API to sign transactions through their apps.

EXODUS 1 can now be ordered from the official website (htcexodus.com), where it is available at the price of 0.15 BTC (Bitcoin) or 4.78 ETH (Ethereum). Delivery is expected in December in 34 countries (USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Great Britain, Austria, Norway and other European countries).
