My wonderful travel into Amazonas: Steemit How To contest for Saturday by @karinac

in #howtosaturday6 years ago (edited)
Hello friends I want to share with you one of the most beautiful experiences of my life and these were my vacations to the Venezuelan Amazon where, a group of friends, my daughter and I, had the most gratifying that the human being can have when coming into contact with a wonderful work of creation such as the colossal Cerro Autana.
Cerro Autana is a tepuy that is located in the second largest state of Venezuela, the Amazonas state, near the Colombian border. It is also part of the Guyanese shield and has an approximate height of 1,300 meters. The sacred mountain of the piaros is formed by almost horizontal strata of sandstone, the Autana contains caves and other karstic formations that are rare in rocks that are not limestones.

The first thing we did, once we determined the place we wanted to meet on our vacations, was to contact one of the travel agencies that are in charge of this tour. We chose a package of 4 days and 3 nights that included transfer from the moment you arrived to the capital of Amazonas, Puerto Ayacucho, food, drinks, hammocks and bednets, bilingual guides, first aid kits, etc. For our tranquility we could appreciate that everything was very well planned.

But a very important question arises: What to bring? It's the jungle and you have to go prepared.

The first thing is a backpack in which you should place cool and light clothing that allows you to walk comfortably through the jungle and in turn to protect from the bite of mosquitoes and other insects, repellent and protector solar, hat, swimsuit, flashlight, personal hygiene kit, comfortable shoes, camera and documentation in order because you have to go through many security posts (alcabalas) and you have to show the documents whenever you request.

The big day arrived and we were very enthusiastic. We started very early towards what would be our first destination, the city of Puerto Ayacucho. Once there we stayed in a small but warm inn where we had a nice reception from its owner and staff. Once installed and after enjoying a delicious dinner, we made contact with the tour operator and coordinated what would be the beginning of this unforgettable adventure.

And so the tour begins.

DAY 1. PARTICIPATING IN THE ADVENTURE.

We left the inn and headed to the Port of Samariapo where the boat that would take us on a 5-hour trip through the waters of the Orinoco awaited us, we would go back through the dark waters of the Sipapo River and finally we would fall into the waters of the Autana to reach the camp where we would spend the night. On the way a lot of food, a nice conversation, river baths and begins to see the Autana.

DAY 2. THE JUNGLE.

For this day we had prepared a 4-hour walk through the jungle so we got up early and had breakfast then we took another bongo that would take us to the entrance of the jungle where the walk would begin. Once in the place and with our backpacks on the shoulder we began to enter into that wonderful and mysterious jungle world concentrated in the song of the birds, the sound of the monkeys hidden among the trees and clapping on our faces to scare the mosquitoes, after After 2 hours we arrived at the place where we would have lunch and enjoy the beauty and cold waters of a natural spa called the Cuao slide. Once the itinerary is completed, we return to the camp for dinner, share the experience of the day and then sleep, not before rejoicing the view with a beautiful night sky covered by a mantle of millions of stars.

DAY 3. I TRAVEL TO KNOW THE GIANT.

Again in the bongo we headed towards the Raudal de Ceguera to the Autana camp where you find yourself face to face with the imposing colossus and there, on the banks of the river, we were waiting for a group of indigenous people from the Piaroa ethnic group, inhabitants of the community, with whom we had the opportunity to share a pleasant time until the afternoon. We chose the churuata in which we were going to sleep and hung chinchorros and mosquito nets, then we went to the area as dining room and enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by the tour guide, a young piaroa, who also became a cook. After a while and after a pleasant conversation we went to sleep, it was the tiredness that what we did was close our eyes and fall into a deep and silent sleep.

DAY 4. THE MEETING.

We woke up with the sunrise and after an energizing breakfast we went to the place where the crossing would start. Once there, we undertake a 2-hour hike through the tropical humid jungle until we reach the Uripika viewpoint from where you can contemplate the colossal Autana, irreverent, defiant and of impressive beauty, exhibiting in all its splendor and at your feet the immensity of the Amazon jungle .

DAY 5. THE RETURN.

After breakfast we return to the Port of Samariapo, going back to the waters of the Autana, Sipapo and finally Orinoco. On the way we stopped in some of the indigenous communities and we explored the place a bit. We had lunch on the way and in the afternoon we arrived at the port to go to the city and prepare for the next day in which we would return to our destination of origin.

> See the Autana is an almost religious experience, it is a moment to reflect, to breathe the country, to get intoxicated with life, clean air, to feed the national ego, and to check , without need of arguments, that beyond our problems, our crisis of values, our politicians and politicians, Venezuela is, without discussion, the most beautiful country on the planet.
