in #howtofriday6 years ago

What part of the world are you, Asia, America, Africa? Never mind, I'm pretty sure tomatoes grow somewhere close to you and is fairly easily accessible wherever you are...
For this reason I've decided that today I'll tell you how to prepare a perfect tomato stew in a quick easy way...

You ready? Now walk with me...

First, our ingredients...

  • An adequate amount of fresh ripe tomato seeds
  • A few seeds of fresh ripe pepper (chilli) (to taste)
  • Palm Oil or Vegetable/Groundnut Oil (according to preference or availability)
  • Salt
  • onion
  • garlic and ginger (both blended)
  • Water, and of course your cooking utensils.

Now lets begin...

  1. First, wash the fresh tomato and pepper seeds clean. Put them in a bowl together.
  2. Now cut the onion in half, wash one part after peeling the outer layer, then place in the bowl alongside the tomato and pepper. Slice the other half and place in a separate bowl.
  3. Blend the three items in the first bowl together to make a smooth paste. Add a little water if too thick.
  4. Rinse an empty pot and place on the stove to simmer. Allow the heat to dry up any traces of water left in the pot.
  5. Pour a fair amount of palm/groundnut/vegetable oil (whichever is available, not all) into the pot and allow to fry a fair bit, probably between a minute and a minute and half.
  6. Pour the sliced onions in and allow to fry for a few more seconds.
  7. Now pour your blended tomato and pepper paste into the pot and allow to fry/boil for another 3 minutes.
  8. Then pour a fair amount of salt, garlic and ginger to taste.
  9. Stir and taste, and adjust any of the seasonings to taste.
  10. If you so desire, you can spice it up with any meat of your choice (chicken, red meat, or catfish if you like)
  11. Allow to boil for a few more minutes...

Now bring it down and serve hot, to be eaten alone or complemented with rice, yam, potatoes, or even bread. In this era of global warming, add a bottle of cold juice and thank me later...
