Tutorial: How to create a Bootable Windows ISO File
Good day Steemian, I will be teaching you guys how to create a bootable windows File with the ISO format using a third party applications
ISO Images are compressed archives containing all the contents extracted from an optical disk. ISO files can be mounted using softwares such as:
ULTRA-ISO
WINRAR
NERO
POWER-ISO
ALCOHOL
PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL
The purpose of this tutorial is to provide Steemians with the necessary knowledge on how to easily edit, compress, encrypt, create and extract ISO files using third party applications.
At the end of this tutorial, Steemians should be able to;
Create bootable Iso Files for Windows and Linux Installation Media.
Convert Iso Images to other file formats such as BIN, Nero NRG Format, Compressed ISZ, Alcohol MDS/MDZ and Clonie-CD IMG File Format.
Burn CD/DVD images into optical disks.
Compress ISO into ISZ file format and Uncompress ISZ into ISO File Format

Disk Image- Extracted content from an optical disk
EXE- Executable file extension
ISO- Optical Disk image file extension
HDD- Hard disk drive
ISZ- Compressed ISO File
NRG- Disk Image created with the Nero Utility
MDS- Disk image created with the ALCOHOL utility
MDZ- Compressed Disk Image created with the Alcohol utility
Third Party Application- Apps provided by a third party; apps provided by a vendor independent from the manufacturer.
ULTRA-ISO
Before we begin this tutorial, you will need to download the Ultra-Iso Executable file by clicking this link.
Ultra-Iso is an executable utility created by EZB SYSTEMS which is used to create, extract, edit, compress and uncompress optical disk images on a computer. In this Post, I will teach you guys how to create a Bootable Windows Image with the ISO File Format using Ultra-iso .
Knowing the Ultra- ISO Toolbar
File
Click on File in the upper left corner of the window.
Several Options will show in the image below:
New - Creates a New CD/DVD Image, bootable CD/DVD image, Bootable CD/DVD image, and Audio CD, UDF Image, PS2 CD / DVD image.
Open- Using the Ctrl + O combination on your keyboard to open a new window/workspace.
Save- Using the Ctrl + S combination on the keyboard allows you to save the file in ISO format automatically.
Save As -This function allows you to select the file format; ISO, ISZ, MDS, NRG,MDZ, CCD, IMG etc
Actions
The Action tool allow you to edit, rename and create new directories.
New Folder-Creates a new folder using the inbuilt file explorer.
Add files- Add files to The workspace
Add Directory- Adds a directory to the workspace
Extract- Extracts the content of an ISO file to a specified directory.
Delete- Delete Files from the workspace.
Rename- Rename/ change file names in the workspace directory.
Hide/Unhide- Removes or add the hidden attribute to files.
Bootable
Bootable tool performs the following functions;
Make/Write Floppy disk image.
Make/write Disk Image.
Extract Boot Sector From HDD.
Extract Boot File from CD/DVD image.
Tools
The Tools Perform the following functions;
Make CD Image
Convert into different file format.
Burn to CD/DVD drive.
Create and verify CD/DVD Checksum.
Uncompress and Compress Iso Files.
Creating A Bootable Windows Iso Image
STEP 1- Accessing the Ultra-iso window
After downloading the ULTRA-ISO executable file from the link, Launch the exe file by double
Clicking the ULTRA-ISO icon on your desktop.
The Ultra-ISO window opens
Step 2- Selecting the Windows File
Select the partition in which the windows file we want to convert to bootable Iso file format is saved, I saved mine on the Local Disk F partition.
Click the folder and all the contents of the folder will immediately show on the ULTRA-ISO window.
Click and drag all contents to the workspace (upper section of the Ultra-iso window)
Step 3 Creating the Bootable Iso File
Creating a bootable iso file is as easy as creating a steemit account, after loading the windows file into the workspace in the upper section of the windows as shown in step 2.
Save As allows you to select the file format type before creating.
Rename the File Name to “Windows 7”
Select The Save Type: Clicking on the Standard ISO File will show you a list of all possible file format you can attribute to the Disk image
Compressed Iso File(.ISZ)
BIN file (.bin/.cue)
Nero File (.NRG)
Alcohol File (.MDZ/mds)
CloneCD File (.Img/.ccd/.sub)
Click Save and wait for the ISO File, the creation takes usually 3-5 mins for completion.
Mounting The Bootable Iso file
After creating the ISO, you can mount it as a virtual drive using the default Windows 8/10 disk utility or Ultra ISO by going to the file directory containing the ISO FILE.
Right Click The ISO File
Click Mount
The ISO File Shows as a virtual drive with windows 7 content
