DIY / How To Make A Crochet Beanie For Toddler- Crochet Lesson Tutorial No. 6

Hello everyone, and welcome to Alodia's Crochet!!

Another tutorials that we are going to learn! And this tutorial is going to be fun as I am going to make a beanie that will fit for 3-5 years of age.

 

This is the first time that I am also going to make a beanie that had never gone with the process of trial and error. And luckily I just make it in just a first try!! And also this is the first time that I am going to used this kind of yarn. I like the color of these yarn. I just bought it in a friend in a facebook.

And so, I named my beanie as "Crochet Sweet Beanie" because as I see the cake of yarn it's like so sweet and very simple color it has it's perfect combo. "Sweet Roll" is 100% Acrylic and in the color label is "Peaches and Cream Pop" from "Premier Yarns".

This Crochet Tutorial has 3 part of videos

• The first part is where you can see how I make the rounds for the beanie
  you can learn how I made the double crochet stitches, chain and the chainspaces
  

The second part is you were able to see how I made the border for the beanie
you will learn how I made the half double crochet stitches

• The third part is how I make the crochet flower for the applique of our beanie.

So let's start.

• The materials I used on this project is The Sweet Roll from Premier Yarns and my 5mm crochet metal hook. As seen on the photo above.

Row 1:Make a magic ring. 6 sc on th magic ring

Row 2: chain 2, 2 double crochet on each of the stitches (12stitches)

Row 3: chain 2, 4 double crochet on the first stitch,skip 1 stitch *4 dc on the next stitch skip 1 stitch * (Repeat asterisk all the way round)

 

Row 4: chain 5, on the very first chain1 space double crochet 4 times chain 2 double crochet 4 times in the same chain1space

*chain 2
4 double crochet chain2 4double crochet on the next chain1space *
(repeat asterisk until end)
slip stitch on the 5th chain we made before we start this row

 

Row 6: chain 2, 4 double crochet on the same stitch,

chain 2
4 dc on the next chain2space

• *chain 2, 4 double crochet in the next chain2spaces *

(repeat asterisk all the way round)
slip stitch on the top of chain 2

Row 7- 14 Repeat Row 6 Instructions

This is the rows where you can see the changing of colors.Until we already finished the row 14!
Row 15-17: chain2, half double crochet on each of every stitches and in the chain 2 spaces make 1 hlaf double crochet only. See the video link on top of this tutorial part 2!
And now we are already done with our Beanie, let's us now make the flower as an applique!
Row 1: 10 single crochet on the magic ring

Row 2: chain 2, double crochet 5 times on the same stitch
chain 3, slip stitch on the next stitch

• single crochet on the next stitch, chain 3, 5 double crochet on the same stitch
  chain 3, slip stitch on the next stitch*
  (Repeat asterisk 4 more times)

As you have notice you have already made 5 petals for our flower. Fasten it off and weave ends.

After the flowers, I just sew the flower on the side part, I also put some flower bead on the middle part to look more fancy hehe!

And yeah!!! We are done!! The Crochet Sweet Beanie!!!!

I love making beanies because first, I can wear it and it is so easy and fun.. I also love to experiment patterns and ofcourse I can't do this without some inspiration.
