In my opinion, teeth that are not treated properly will affect the oral health of children, such as caries that causes damaged milk teeth, pain, to damage and, permanent dentition disruption. Not only that, the effect can be furthermore on the health of children, such as ear infections, sinusitis, sleep disorders, difficulty chewing, malnutrition, to disruption of child growth.

The most common child teeth problems we face are caries in a child's milk tooth, which we can actually avoid. Most dental caries problems in children aged 1 to 3 years, caused by three things, namely; poor brushing habits, excessive sugar consumption, and drinking milk before and during sleep.

What can you do to prevent caries in a baby's milk teeth???

  • Keep the toothbrush pattern. This can be done since the first tooth has not grown, by getting used to clean the child's gums using soft gauze and warm water. Continue when the first tooth grows and, start with a special toothbrush for the baby.

  • Check your child's teeth and gums regularly to the dentist. Do not wait for your baby to be in pain. Coming to the dentist when your child's teeth are not a problem, definitely make your child feel more comfortable.

  • Get enough nutrition. Nutrition affects the structure and bones of teeth. The more nutritious, the better the child's teeth and bones.

  • Limit sugar intake. Sugar on food or drink will stick in the teeth, if continuous and not cleaned can increase the bad bacteria in the teeth that cause caries.

  • Do not let your child drink milk with bottles during sleep or before going to bed. Because the milk will flood the mouth and teeth, which can increase the bacteria that cause tooth decay..
