How to set up your public profile settings for the first time

How to create an http version of your desired avatar for uploading to your profile
What name do you want people to see as your main profile name?
What message do you want to give with your description? This is way more important than many people seem to realise!
Do you want your location to be public?
Do you have a website worth linking? Even if it is back to your Facebook account, this is better than nothing. Assuming you are not fussed about retaining your anonymity.
Do you want to see NSFW content? Adjust your settings to taste :)
