7 Steps For Whitening Your Teeth With Activated Charcoal - DIY
So this week i was pretty bored and had some activated charcoal laying around, which i meant to make the viral "peel-off blackhead remover mask" with, but it turned out my nearest supermarket didnt sell non toxic glue, and honestly im not that much into getting intoxicated. So i saw it on the medicine cabinet and i thought, what can i do with this weird looking black powder filled capsules? A quick search on the internet later and i had my answer! Turn my corn looking teeth into pearly white chompers!
Here's what you need:
- Activated charcoal capsules or powder
- Your regular toothbrush
- Paper towel or toilet paper
- Water
WARNING: the charcoal capsules basically explode everywhere when you open it, so i recommend doing it over a paper towel so you dont stain your whole sink... or maybe it was just me when i had to cut the tip off because it wouldnt open as a normal capsule would. But consider yourself warned now anyways.
And this is what you do with it:
- Wet your toothbrush and place it over the paper towel
- Carefully open the charcoal capsule or cut the tip off
- Pour the charcoal powder over the toothbrush
- Use a bit more water if needed
- Brush your teeth as you normally would for about 2 minutes
- Rinse out your mouth and use some mouthwash if you're grossed out
- Conquer the world with your new shiny smile! Or not.
Additional info
For better results do these at least 2-3 times per week.
If you have sensitive teeth you can just mix the charcoal with water, dab it on your teeth and then swish it around.
The charcoal works by changing the PH balance in your mouth, absorbs bacteria and removes plaque buildup. It also helps prevent gums desease. However, it wont do much for teeth that are severly stained or that are yellow due to illneses.
These are my results after just one try:
(No, it doesnt make your teeth look more straight or change their shape as you can see)
I am definitely interested in seeing what activated charcoal can do after a month of use.

Thanks for your comment! I sure will! xx
If your teeth take a turn for the worse, that would also be interesting. You could do a post on how to get pirate teeth on the cheap.
