How To Get Rid Of Self Limiting Beliefs.png

We tend to believe that our life is influenced by people, places, and outside circumstances that we can’t control. This is not true. It’s our own thoughts and beliefs about ourselves that determine how we behave and react to the world.

For us to be able to change, we must become present of our internal thoughts and beliefs that we have about ourselves. We must become present to the hidden thoughts that have been keeping us from achieving our true potential.

Our Thoughts Define Our Reality

Who we think we are defines our reality. Our thoughts ultimately shape our lives, so it’s important to think positive thoughts. Negative thoughts can, and will, ultimately become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Once one is aware of their self-limiting beliefs, they can start to change their life for the better. Being aware of your thoughts and actions is extremely important. It’s the first real step towards change and a more positive way of thinking, behaving, and acting.

The Anger Example

A good example here is someone who has anger issues. Let’s say you are always feeling angry and you don’t understand why. The first step would be to become aware of WHEN you start to feel angry, then ask yourself what is causing you to feel angry.

Once you know the reason behind it, a good solution would be to remove whatever is making you feel angry, if possible. If not possible, do the best you can to avoid what is causing you to feel that way, as anger is a very dark and negative energy that can consume your soul.

Some Tips To Help You Move Forward

Here are just a few tips which can help you in becoming present to a self limiting belief that is holding you back from achieving your true potential.

• Find a comfortable space for one hour and remove all distractions. Just let yourself go and focus on your breath. The use of relaxation music can be very therapeutic as well.

• Take a notebook and write a list of things you believe defines who you are. Make two lists, one being positive and the other negative.

• Once done, go back to your state of relaxation. Start to think about who you were in your past, from being an adult back to your childhood. Just observe and do nothing more.

• Once done, come back to your notebook and add anything else that has come to your mind from the exercise before.

• Consider that the functions of the positives of your list are there to help fix the negatives of the list.

• Allow yourself to become present on the one negative thing that you believe defines who you are.

• Take this negative and turn it into a positive. For instance, if the negative starts with “I can’t” turn it into “I can” instead.

Start Changing Your Mindset and Reality Will Follow

The purpose of this exercise is to start changing your mindset. If you’re always thinking negatively, you will always attract negative people, situations, and circumstances.

The law of attraction is a very real thing. Once you start to think more positively and be more grateful for what you already have, you will start to attract more of the same things. Turn your scarce ways of thinking into an abundant way of thinking and you will see how drastically it can transform your life.

This post is spot on for getting rid of beliefs that limit you. I like that you gave some advice on how to eliminate the negativity, rather than just saying "you should get rid of it..." Often times, we know we need to make changes - it's the HOW that confuses us. Thanks for sharing!

Great bullet points I think these would work with toxic people as well!!

Limiting beliefs stop greatness from happening. I also believe that it is the cause of procrastination, the fear of failure or the fear of success.
