Homemade Sundried Tomato(Recipe)

Homemade sun-dried tomatoe powder..

easy to make and easy to store.

Tomato Powder Health Benefits:-

Tomato powder is also rich in dietary fiber which aids the digestive tract and promotes a feeling of fullness.

Recipe:

• 1.5 kg of tomatoes (pulpy ones are better than juicy one's)
  Wash under running water and dry them completely (even a drop of water may lead to catching fungus in whole batch).
  Cut them as shown in pic.

• You can cut them in round slices as well. (Don't remove the seeds or juices of tomatoes)
  Arrange them properly in a plate or tray.
  And keep them for drying in the sun.

• Next day flip the tomatoes and dry it again.
  It took me 10 days to get a batch of completely dried tomatoes.(it was 30 degree in Bangalore and sun did play hide and seek).

• To check if tomatoes are completely dried..just try to break one piece, and if it's crispy when you break it, its dried, if it's soggy or undried, you won't feel crispiness whole twisting the piece of tomato.

• Grind the tomatoes in fine powder and sieve the powder with the help of strainer.
  Your tomato powder is ready.
  Store it in a airtight container in fridge for next 8-10 months.

1 You can use the powder to make pasta sauce, pizza sauce, puree, soup, curry etc.

2 It's ok if your tomatoes turn black while drying out, just keep an eye for white fungus.

3 Cover with muslin cloth if you want to protect it from dust or birds.

4 No oil or salt or any other spices were used to make this powder.
