Making a Tree of Life Pendant - A Shitty Tutorial
I took the photos for this weeks ago...and it's 420 today...so bear with me. Haha!
So...For the frame of the pendant you want to use kind of a heavy gauge wire. I use 18 gauge. You snip you off about 6 inches of that. Find you something nice and round you can wrap your wire around. I use a medicine bottle.
Wrap your wire around the object, and twist the ends together. You want to twist them in such a way as to allow a cord of some sort to go through it. The end that the cord goes through is called the "bail."

So now you want wires for your roots, trunk, and branches. Cut you 6 bits of 22 gauge or smaller wire. Each should be about 5 to 6 inches long, depending on how big your frame is. If your frame is huge, cut longer pieces of wire. Duh.
You take your pieces of thin wire, fold one in half, and loop it around the bottom of the frame. Do this with each piece of wire, keeping them at the bottom of the frame....because those are the roots.
Then you bring all your wires together and begin to twist. Only twist a couple of times. This forms the trunk.
Then divide your wires into branches. Take two wires and twist them 3 or 4 twists. Then take the next two wires and twist them as well. Keep going.
After your branches are decided, begin adding your stones or beads.
Twist the end of the wire around the frame. Don't snip off the extra yet!!!!!!
So you keep doing that until you've finished with all the wires. Adjust them to where you want them, then trim off the excess wire. You've made a Tree of Life! Congratulations! :)

The blue stones are lovely...the greenish and white mottled patterns on them reminds me of "the earth from outer space"! What are they?
Lapis Lazuli! They're definitely one of my favorites.
