The U.S House of Representatives proposed a bi-partisan resolution H.R 5131. If this legislation is passed a signed by the president into law, this bill will allow the government to implement the U.S.’ very own de facto Ministry of Truth. The Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify sources of accurate information.
