I don't know exactly as in some cases they can be used interchangeably, so here's my idea.

A house refers to the physical thing. It's the building where a person or a group of people live and take shelter. It's composed of several rooms which are also intended for various things.

On the contrary, a home, for me, refers to the people living in it. It's no longer just in physical sense, but the thought of staying in that house together with your loved ones. Well, you can live alone in a house, but still feel at home, though.

Basically, it's the feeling that you have when you stay in that place. For example, "My house is very small." --> So, it's basically describing the structure itself. As for the other word there's a connection to the feeling. "My home is my sanctuary."

Well, in the end, it's just my opinion, so I'm not sure people would agree to it or not. haha All I can say is, I like my house, but I love my home better. <3

Thank you for the question. :)
