Popular messaging and photo app Snap now offers web-based messaging and video calling capabilities, enabling users to communicate with their connections from their computers. In the beginning, the business targeted young customers with a popular photo-sharing app for their smartphones and mobile tablets.

Snap's most recent action acknowledges that its users have matured, with many of them working at home or at the office on large screens. The new desktop version of the app will be made initially available to customers in Australia and New Zealand as well as Snapchat+ subscribers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, according to Evan Thomas Spiegel, co-founder, and CEO of Snap.

The mobile app's messaging feature, rather than its Stories feature, will be the main focus of the web service, which will be a more condensed version of the mobile app. Like the Snap app, messages will vanish after 24 hours, and any Snaps users view on desktop computers will be deleted immediately after viewing, according to a statement from Spiegel. It went on to say that Snap will add more app capabilities to the desktop version, including the capability for users to add some personality to their video calls by using lenses.
