What's the difference between dedicated hosting and regular shared hosting?
All hosting has to be on some kind of server so it would be accessible.
With shared hosting you get a place on a server, where there are not just your files but others too. In a shared server you’ll have limited resources of the disk space and all the bandwidth that is used is also shared between the users on that server. With a dedicated server you get the whole server to yourself. From a risk point of view there are two things. On a dedicated server you’ll have to build your own security levels, but on the other hand in a shared server if someone gets the IP blacklisted then it’s for everyone. A dedicated server is more flexible because you control what programs, applications and scripts you install there. And same is with the bills, if you share the server you share the costs.
At the end it all comes to what you need and what you can afford.
