HOSPITALITY: Can be defined as the generous and warm reception of a guest, or reception and entertainment of guests, visitors and strangers with goodwill.

HOSPITALITY industry is one of the fastest growing sectors across the globe. The industry is large enough to absorb people with diverse interest. It is an interesting field and offers limitless opportunities. Hospitality is to create a working experience which motivates guests living with them happy exciting memories.
The word HOSPITALITY comes from the Latin word, "hospes'' which means host or guest. Hospitality has come to mean heartily meeting the needs of guest with kindness and good will while they are away from their homes.
In Nigeria, hospitaliy industry began with the arrival of the missionaries. The work of the missionaries prompted them to build houses and provided catering services after the mission work of the day.
A successful hospitality industry must command some specialized knowledge all geared towards achieving the unlisted goals:

• Ensure things work for the guest
• make the guest feel at home
• Ensure the industry continues to provide services and make profit.
  
  The industry is about service. The industry makes service available to people while they are away from their home and on some occasions while they are home. Some of them render home services.
  The hospitality industry cuts across the globe providing jobs, entertainment, food, accommodation, car hire services, recreational services and catering services in a kind and friendly way.
  In conclusion, hospitality industry is one of the fastest evolving industry and offers an exciting career and with time it will be the largest employer of labour.@thomasama
