The Third Eye

Many or some people have said that they have "third eye." And it seems that they are so proud of having this. When the minister asked them what it can do for them, they have different answers. Some say that they can sense people. Others see spirits. And still others know of events which otherwise the five senses cannot perceive. Thus, they claim that it was their "sixth sense."

Is having the third eye good? Is it a blessing to the one who claims to have it? Or is it something that one should avoid? And if one already has it, should it be something to be delivered from?

Our dictionary defines the third eye like this: "In Hinduism, the locus of occult power and wisdom in the forehead of a deity, especially the god Shiva." John Daniel, a Christian author, refers to the third eye as the "'third eye' of clairvoyance in the Hindu religion, the eye of Osiris in Egypt, and the All-Seeing Eye in Freemasonry." As such, the third eye is unChristian, to say the least. He goes on to say this:

What the Serpent promised Adam and Eve, was that their knowledge would be broadened, if they ate of the forbidden fruit. but the most foreboding aspect of this Scripture emerges from the fact that the Hebrew word for "eye" is not plural, but singular. What the Serpent actually told Adam and Eve, was that their "eye" would be broadened by knowledge. The "eye" that is not the physical organ of sight, but the "eye" of the mind or soul.

From this statement we can see that the source of third eye is not the God. Rather, it is the Serpent, also known as the deceiver or Satan. It is Satan who deceived Adam and Eve so they will eat the forbidden fruit. His promise is to give those people a knowledge through the opened "eye." The opened eye is none other than the "third eye" --- singular. That being the case, it is an admission that the third eye is actually an effect of man's fall into sin.

We will learn more about what the third eye can actually bring to a person's life from someone who had it. Let us see from those experiences of Mac.

This is the story of Mac whom he had told to the minister when they had conversations.

Mac: How did he have "third eye"

If you see Mac, you will never think that he had a passed that is like for a horror movie. When he said his stories, the minister was surprised of some of it. He was deep into the occult.

Just like the many 3-year-olds, Mac is a naughty child. Once, he went to the house of their neighbors and played those newly laundry clothes that's being hang outside. Because of this, the clothes was dirt again, and the helper got angry. (Of course, because it's her who are tired in laundring those clothes.) She caught him and she is so mad, and told him that she is an aswang! Mac was scared stiff. He said that the face of the helper is changed into so scary face. Mac tried to cried, but there's no voice coming out.

That night, Mac's house lost electric power. His not sure if it's only their house or the whole community was affected. But the very clear of Mac's memory is, just like the helpers threat on him, in a flash, there she was inside his room. She really is aswang (a vampire like creature)! And just how fast the aswang helper appeared for him to see, it's also how fast as she vanished . Needless to say, Mac was horrified! He never got sleep that night.

When Mac grew up into adolescence, his life was been a mess. He was always looking for trouble --- or trouble was looking for him. His always been into trouble. Eventually, his parents decided to send him to the province of Surigao.

At 19, he met an elderly Manobo woman (an ethnic person) at local eatery. Sensing that the woman was hungry, Mac offered her food. The old woman was excited in the attitude and respect that Mac showed to her, and so she offered to give power to Mac. Actually, two kinds of power --- power for seeing into the spirit world or what many refer to as third eye, and the other power is invisibility.

"Do you like to see some creatures that you don't saw in Manila?" the woman asked. To do this, the woman give him a piece of paper with Latin incantations written on it. The old woman said that he needs to recite the incantation then swallow the paper. He did.

And that started his deep involvement with the occult.

Mac did receive his third eye. He started seeing spirit --- those fairy, elf, kapre (tree monster), aswang and many others. Not only that, but he was also able to see into people's minds. He can see immediately what the person thinks --- if theirs someone wants to hurt him, and what's in store for him in one place.

And as promised by the woman, he was protected when he would get into fights. He had been shot, knifed, and gotten into fist fights with gangs, but nothing happen to him. Nothing affected his physical body, even when he tried to commit suicide on at least seven occasions. He was not dead! He ate moth balls, drank anti-termite solutions and mosquito repellants, and ate broken glass, but nothing affected him.

He lives this kind of life and continued on it aimlessly. He went back to Pasig and eventually Marikina where he meet his wife-to-be. Here in Marikina Mac also found another few people who also used this third eye. He was involved in their group and here he meet Mr. Manuel, a powerful spirit healer who would later on enhance the power that was given to Mac. Mr Manuel brought him to places where he said Mac "gifting" will become more stronger. Meaning, Mac will see the different spirits around him more clearer to his sight. He said there's so many demons that he sees, most of them are ugly!

Where ever Mac's go, he sees spirits. He sees Tikbalang (centaur like). He sees the ghost of dead people ( or so he thought). He sees monster, aswang (vampire like with wings). He sees elf. He sees them all. That is what his third eye showed him. He was enabled to see the spirit world.

Mac may have powers that can see the spirit world, but it cannot give him a proper direction in his life. He continued in his downward spiral. He became a drug addict and got involved in criminal activities. Eventually, he drifted into one of drug rehabilitation facility where God intervened. It was here that someone talked to him about Jesus. It was in that drug rehabilitation center that he heard about the forgiveness and salvation that Jesus offers. Mac repented of his own sins and received Jesus and believed that He can saved him.

Although Mac is now a believer of Jesus Christ, it took him a long time to surrender his third eye abilities. It's because he doesn't know that this third eye is one thing that he must need to renounce and rejected. He still able to see elf's, kapre (tree monster), fairies, aswang, and other creatures. But God will not let this go on for long. God has a plan to fix Mac's life properly.

When Mac moved to a new apartment block, he had made friends which is a believers in Jesus. They shared with him the truth that Jesus can set him free from his bondage to these third-eye powers. And Mac learn that third eye power is bad, and he knew he needed help. And so he allowed this people to pray over him. When his Christian neighbors addressed the spirit behind third eye, Mac said that immediately his (negative) spiritual vision became blurred. He could not see the demons as clearly as before. Truly the prayer of God's people is powerful!

But it did not stop there. The Christians rejoiced in this victory and told their pastor about it. The pastor, named Allen, invited Mac for another session of deliverance, to make it sure that everything is cleaned all that is needed to be cleaned. Mac obliged. Two days after the initial prayer, it was now Pastor Allen who ministered to him.

When the spirit behind the third eye was addressed, amazingly, Mac spewed the two pieces of paper which has the Latin chants in it, which the Manobo (ethnic) woman let him swallowed in Surigao more than four years earlier. The gastric acid may not been able to destroy them through all those years, but the name of Jesus surely scared the demons behind these papers.

Now, Mac has a proper life - out of trouble and not seeking for trouble. He has said no to his third-eye powers and now a lover of Jesus.

Not all that was given to us makes us blessed, sometimes it is a cursed coming from the other world.
