From the French word for "plug," the tampon has long symbolized the stifling of the feminine spirit. Here, courageous breakout artiste @norwegiansteem throws caution and oppressive patriarchal sanitaton to the wind. Drenched in the blood that symbolizes twenty-eight more days of successfully dodging the enslavement of pregnancy, splattered against a background evocative of flame, this piece dares the bra-burners of yesterday to be the tampon burners of today. Brava @norwegiansteem. Womynhood salutes you.
