People may become more realistic this week.
So, the measures against coronaviruses may become more realistic as well.
We cannot lockdown forever.
We may not die from coronaviruses if we continue lockdown, but we will die from economic stagnation.
Lots of people die from the flu and suicide and traffic accidents every year.
Coronaviruses are just one of those.
There are no good reasons we treat coronaviruses so special.
Why don't we lockdown whenever the flu goes around during winter?
The panic about coronaviruses is a purely political thing.
We panic, as media or politicians drive us to panic.
"We need to protect all the people no matter who they are."
Yes, it sounds beautiful, indeed.
It sounds humanistic, empathetic, and with the words, we can cheat ourselves that we are treating all the people equally.
But we cannot continue dreaming such fake wold.
We live in Capitalism, in which we need to beat others just to stay alive.
Our reality is far from empathy and equality.
We need to wake up.
Most of the time, we allow inequality among people.
The inequality comes from our talents, environments, and a bit of effort.
And we praise such inequality as "fair."
The same story goes on with coronaviruses.
Our resistance against the viruses varies and is inequal.
And, at this moment, all the measures are to protect the most vulnerable against the viruses.
It is inefficient, and won't work.
If we don't want to die from coronaviruses, we can stay at home.
But we can't force others to do the same just to save your life or elders.
Saving elders is such a good excuse.
Isn't that you just want to save your own life?
