Collecting honey in South Africa

in #honey4 years ago

Just want to share a few photos of me collecting honey and extracting it.

The hives stands next to a maze field, but the nectar source used by the bees are maintly "Wag-n-Bietjie" trees.

Whats very interesting about this specific honey, is that it is a dark orange color and when extracted, makes a white foam on top of the honey.

You first need to wait for the foam to go to the top, before you are able to bottle it.

It however makes for a very nice looking honey.

I sell it at a local store for R70(+-4.66USD) per 500g bottle.
