A rain collection system is in the plan for next year.
Well, I already have one, so to speak: 50 or so "Homer" buckets which are out in the yard. Last two days of rainfall, gathered 50 gallons! (10 buckets.) It's not enough this year as we've planted in the soil; last year we did container gardening and watered almost exclusively from rain gathered similarly.
Next year I want gutters, and barrels like in your picture.
There is an old pickle company about 30 miles from me and twice a year they GIVE these away for free! I scooped up two- that was the limit.
I need to start looking or more 5-gallon buckets next at local bakeries and shops. I am planning more container/bucket plants for next year too.
