My Casa... Smells Like A Spicy Cantina or Restaurante
I had some cayenne peppers (and some defective growing red bell peppers) left in my garden and decided to make my homemade version of Frank's Red Hot Sauce.
Golden D's Hot Sauce Recipe
9-12 cayenne peppers- washed and stem removed
3/4 cup white distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt (sea, kosher or regular table)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a slow rolling boil then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. When the peppers are soft (but not mushy) pour into a food processor. *Be careful not to splatter hot juices on your so cover food processor lid with a towel.
Then puree through processor until most of it is smooth. You will have seeds in there but not to worry, as you will be running it through either cheesecloth or a strainer next.
And the finished product...
DELICIOSO
Have a great weekend everyone
