Autumn has set in

This morning I noticed the first frost on the ground. The sun was just touching the land and gave off the most spectacular warm light.
Shades of yellow and orange filled the garden. It made me realise how much we’ve shifted into autumn already.

Slowly but surely our food is disappearing from the garden. Brussel sprouts, kale, carrots and cabbages remain as leftover warriors in this cold spell. The raspberries are still shining as bright as they can yet are the last available fruits of the year.

Our autumn raspberry

Today is an odd day. Besides the cold there is absolutely no wind which is extraordinary unusual for us. A pure morning of absolute silence.
All the animals are quiet too, including Ayumi.

I am very much enjoying this morning on the homestead!

Our first frost here in New England was the 3rd week of Sept. I think I picked my last raspberry on Sunday. Lots of color here right now, it's been a lovely autumn.

I really liked your first photo, with the light hitting the way it did.

Your raspberries are looking lovely still. I've seen a few still around on other people's allotment in the UK... Eaten a few too but shh ha ha
