RE: The Story of Milk: Raw vs Processed

in #homesteading6 years ago

Seems to me that the solution is buying your own cow.
If that is the only restriction you have to get around in order to legally own and drink raw milk, why not just go ahead and buy a cow?
Health problems and illness have been shown to result from consuming bad milk. That is a fact, to dispute it is to ignore reality. But, if you prefer to drink raw milk, the law allows you to do so. You just have to buy and maintain a cow of your own.
What is the issue? You are going to claim that you cannot afford a cow? While spending ten dollars a gallon for illegal raw milk? Or, eight dollars a gallon for organic? This seems more a matter of personal priorities, than an issue of citizen's rights being infringed. You don't just want raw milk, you want it cheep and without any work on your part to obtain it.
That's where it gets dicey. The government has a responsibility to protect all citizens equally, which it does by regulating milk, but nobody is responsible for providing niche product for those who choose to live outside the protections offered by the law.
And while that may sound harsh, or dismissive to some, the fact is, the government does not deny you access to raw milk, it just says you can't sell it. Again, since you have made a decision to drink raw milk in order to receive some perceived health benifits, it is up to you to buy a cow and produce what you want.

Finally, for those who will say I have no experience with or appreciation for raw milk, I will say I grew up drinking raw milk that was filtered with a cheesecloth and chilled in a metal canister in the river. I know, it's good stuff, I get it. But these days I sit with the 95% of Americans who would rather buy safe food for themselves and their children. For us, the risk outweigh the benefits.

I agree with this statement. @ironshield

As with most government efforts, Milk done "legally" is process so much it is not longer good for food. When milk is homogenized, critical molecular structures are fractured. These molecules are difficult, at best, for the body to process. These poorly processed fat segments end up depositing on artery walls in the form of plaque, which in turn reduces the fluid handling ability of that artery. This process is NOT for safety, it is for purely cosmetic reasons so the milk will "look better" by staying mixed. So we generate a damaging drink, for questionable reasons, and use the force of LAW to make people drink it, "For their own Good"; which later causes serious medical problems!

While we can agree there are advantages to pasteurization, IF the cow giving the milk is sick; there is NO similar argument for homogenization! It ultimately makes milk into a poison, and few people understand this! This practice is one of the major contributors to the need for Angioplasty. The science is understood, the results are clear, so why are we still allowing this dangerous process to continue?

You are a fool.
In your reply, you said--->use the force of LAW to make people drink it, "For their own Good".
Who exactly is forcing you, or anybody else, to drink milk?
It is not a dietary requirement, nor is it mandatory to buy and drink milk.
Raw or pasteurized, nobody makes you buy it, and I know of no medical conditions which require milk for treatment; So, who is forcing you, or anybody else, to buy milk?
If you don't like the products offered at the store....don't buy them, and stop acting like there is a conspiracy to poison you with something you have to choose to do all on your own.
Moron

Obviously you do not have the ability to READ before you comment!

IF you had actually Read the article, you would have seen that there are complex fats IN MILK (as the primary source, BTW) that the body NEEDS to repair arteries and veins; that are destroyed by the homogenization process! Those damaged fats, are not recognised by your body, and end up deposited on the very scars that they would have repaired, in the form of plaque! Since the homogenization process is required, by the government, it HAS the force of LAW! As a direct result, they make a needed food source, into an unusable food source! I NEVER said it was a conspiracy! I believe it is done in Ignorance, for cosmetic reasons; and the government has no business in this area! As you say, if you do not want it, do Not buy it; let the market will exercise this level of control by popular choice. If you want a specific process, buy That milk; and the other processes will self limit; problem solved!

Read the article, you might learn sometihing useful; or continue to blindly trust the government. But remember these are the guys who opposed daylight savings time, because the extra hour of sunlight would burn up the grass; and opposed a Navy base on Guam, because the Island might roll over with the extra weight! Ignorance at high levels IS dangerous!

I really do wish you health, and long life; be blessed!

Yeah, you're still an idiot.
Nobody homogenizes your milk if you own the cow.
Therefore, no force of law.
Anyone in this country can still buy a cow.
Therefore, no force of law.
And, as for all of your "science", it is irrelevant to the discussion.
My point was, "Nobody forces you to buy processed milk.It is a choice you make."
Therefore, no force of law.
Like I said earlier, you, sir, are a moron.

Interesting, calling yourself viciousrunt does NOT give you any special status. You argue in circles, MOST people live in the burbs, and If I bought a cow, the city (AKA government) would be all over me, so I call BS! Calling me and idiot when You do not know me, is intended to be insulting. I looked at your page (all the effort I am willing to give you) and see that you want to be a writer. I am not impressed with the samples of writing thus far. Dismissing scientific data, in a scientific argument, show a total lack of ability to organize your thoughts, you need to work on that! I also NEVER said I buy this feces, so I am correcting your error there. If you read any of my stuff, you would see that I buy raw milk; however, I do not want to confuse you with facts, as you have made up your mind! This post was done, in a effort to help those people that have a brain, to make an informed decision for themselves. The opinion of a liberal who did not finish high school, is not important to me. If you want some coaching in Real writing, and not liberal attack writing (which appears to be the limit of your "talents") contact me, and If I can find the time, I will try to help you. I have written several dozen patents for medical advances, as well as hundreds of sucessful project proposals; and I have two books being reviewed by the editors. I will be in three states (assuming that California still counts) next week, fixing problems no one else has been able to fix; so you must be right, I must have no brain power at all, ROFLOL!

You should select someone else to get into a pissing match with Child; or get a LOT of experience and Lot more schooling so you can understand the science involved, and try to keep up your end of the debate!

BTW repeating trash statements, ad nauseum, does NOT add weight to an argument; it only shows that you have no other supporting facts.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Fuck you, you pretentious piece of shit.
I did not attack anything you said, you jackass.
You, were the one who decided to start an argument with me over a comment I made on somebody else's post. A comment the author agreed with and said so in a reply.
After I show that your rant did not apply to my comment, you made the mistake of thinking I actually care what the fuck you think.
I was not talking to you in the first place.
Find someone else to argue with you lonely motherfucker.

Temper temper child! Use facts to argue, or all you do is show your level of ignorance. I may have commented on somethin you posted, but if I did I am sure it was tainted by facts also, ROFLOL! What you should do to improve your writing, is to increase you vocabulary. It helps you describe things in a more interesting manner too. You should try it....

When you write, you must assume that people might actually read what you write; it could happen! Especially if you improve your vocabulary!

🙌

Glad to see this less-than-dignified fellow seems to have checked out from this platform and proceeded onwards elsewhere to continue his trolling.

Respect for how you addressed it.

Thanks, he went all "Facebook" on me, LOL! One of the reasons I left that platform. I have been called worse, by more intelligent people; so I just don't let people like this bother me!

He may have just smashed his keyboard, and can't answer any more. :D

But thank you, I do enjoy steemit!
