Finished Planting the Raised Beds in the High Tunnel Greenhouse

The greenhouse is planted for the most part.

First three beds are tomatoes, peppers, and nasturtium.
Next three beds with the fencing are corn, peas, beans, radish, and squash.
Three beds after are broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, and other brassicas.
Last three beds are carrots, parsnips, and peanuts. This is the first year doing the peanuts.

I need to plant some more flowers on the ends of all the beds yet.

I had to switch out the big sprinkler since this one had a large spider nest inside gumming up the works. Hubbie isn't sure when he'll have a chance to clean it out since we're working on yard cleanup too.

This North bed will have mostly Maple trees. We actually dug up a bunch of 4 inch tall baby maples out of our old shade garden. I forgot to take a picture with them in there. I thought they'd be able to stay for a couple years in the greenhouse, but my uncle says with how fast they grow with regular water they'll be transplanted within a year maybe a year and a half. They'll be moved to the South side of our field for decoration(pretty pretty maple leaves!), more trees for delicious maples syrup, and the start of a nice wind break.

Soaker hoses are doing their job for our tomato/pepper beds and some of the corn/pea/bean/squash beds (three sisters system for the win).

Even wrapped the extra hose length around one of the apple trees. Hopefully we'll have time to transplant these two into the orchard this year. Lots of maintenance and infrastructure to work on this year. Not sure how excited I am about working on fencing...but it'll be worth it in the long run.

You can see the rabbit cages we moved outside.

All our hard work is slowly paying off. We already have radish sprouting! Update you all later my peeps!

Sort:

That is a lot of hard work. Hope you do a story following the peanuts growth, I've never seen anyone grow peanuts before.

We've never tried peanuts before, but I ordered 3 varieties...I was only able to fit one variety in the bed tho. They have a longer season than some of the other stuff we have so I wanted to make a point of putting them in the greenhouse for a better chance.

This is great. Hope all the hard work pays off and you have a good harvest.

Nice post.....I like it
