Hey there, and welcome aboard the crazy Steemit train! My family and I are on a quite similar venture, with a hope to get off grid on the 12 acres we just moved to this summer. We got rid of so much in order to come here--I think having "next to nothing" is not neccessarily a bad place to be.

It is a lot of hard work, that's for sure, but SO worth it. So you've been on your land a few years already?? That's amazing. We have yet to see all four seasons here, but we're really excited.
