yes, try it that way and see if it helps. Just keep it moderately moist. You don't want them sitting in water. I use a spray bottle and mist them 2 or 3 times a day till they start spouting. Once they are an inch or two high, they can be sprinkled with water. A few days after that I am eating them. It doesn't take long to reach baby greens height.
